The ROMER Tube Inspection System can inspect and measure round metallic and non-metallic wire, tubing, and piping used in almost any industry - automotive, aerospace, shipbuilding, medical, machinery, appliance, power generation, and more.
The ROMER Tube Inspection Solution represents a unified system covering all 3 main tasks of tube inspection:
Tube inspection and definition
Geometry measurement
Bender Interfaces with on-line bending program correction
In combination with the different mounting solutions offered, the ROMER system is the only portable tube inspection solution on the market. The ROMER Tube Inspection System can be taken to the work piece to measure pipes, lines, hoses and tubes in place, thereby saving time and effort. Reverse engineering tube geometry for replacement parts is fast and straightforward, even in-place on the assembly without removing the tube.
The ROMER Tube Inspection System offers a choice of tools to inspect everything from hydraulic tubing to exhaust pipes. The seamless integration into the ROMER Tube Inspection software packages creates a complete tube inspection solution. Two software packages are available: ROMER DOCS or ROMER G-Tube. The ROMER Tube Inspection System comes as a package and will determine tube lengths, bend angles, tube spring-back and corrected bend data. The data, including both absolute and incremental length rotation and angle data, can be output in a variety of formats, or even send corrected bend data directly to a tube bending machine. ROMER’s non-contact tube probes ensures that tubes are not deflected during the measurement process and are suitable for measuring from wires up to 130 mm (5.1 in.) tubes. Intelligent probes are changeable on-the-fly without tools or recalibration.
The ROMER Tube Inspection System makes expensive masters unnecessary and reduces down time for new tubes in production significantly. Tube measurement plus geometry measurement in one single software eliminates the need to run multiple applications if a tube has brackets, flanges, bosses or other geometric features to measure. The ROMER Tube Inspection System supports all needs in quality inspection or for reverse engineering tubes, featuring:
CAD based tube inspection
Hard probes and non-contact tube probes interchangeable during the measurement cycle
Direct interfaces to all major manufactures of tube bending machines
Direct interaction and providing correction data to tube bending machines

The Point Repeatability Test is the reference test to determine measurement arm repeatability with ball probe. The cone is in front of the machine. Points are measured from multiple approach directions. The average point and the deviation of each point to the average center are calculated. The result is the maximum range divided by two.
The Volumetric Accuracy Test most accurately represents the reasonable expectations for machine performance in practical measuring applications since it involves measuring a certified length standard many times in several locations and orientations and compares the resultant measurements to the actual length. The Volumetric Length Accuracy Test is the most appropriate test for determining machine accuracy and repeatability. The result is the maximum deviation of the measuring distance less the theoretical length.
